The River Run ATV
Park
Nestled deep in the woods between
Jacksonville and Neches Texas lies a 2,500 acre park that is dedicated
to off-roading with 4x4 trucks and ATVs. The River Run Park has only
been open for a little over a year, and yet consist of some of the
finest facilities of any atv park I've seen. They have showers for men
and women that actually run HOT water. There is also a 5-Bay car wash
style power washer for cleaning the mud off your toys. They have over
60 hookup spots for RV and Trailer camping and their 'in the trees'
primitive camping spots are perfect for tent camping. Overall, your
stay at The River Run ATV Park will most definitely be one of the most
enjoyable you will ever have at an ATV park in Texas.
Trail Riding:
The trails at River Run are damn near perfect. I can't recall any
branches in my face or scuffed plastic from squeezing in-between two
close trees. These trails are wide and you could go as fast as you
wanted too without to much worry of the natural elements. Much like CC
racing, these trails have their technical moments, but overall they
are very easy to ride. There are plenty of challenging obstacles
around, but no real tall hill climbs. Almost all trails are tucked
inside the tree lines, so even on hot days, you are cruising around in
the shade, which makes it very nice indeed.
Overall, I enjoyed the trail riding at River Run Park tremendously.
During dry season, be sure to bring a good pair of goggles, as the
dust will bother you.
Mud Riding:
What can I say about an East Texas ATV Park in the middle of a dry
spell? For most parks, I can tell you that it's dry, but for River
Run, I can say that there was plenty of mud and water. Mac, the owner,
is dedicated to providing a fantastic mud palace, by pumping in water
when it's needed, ensuring all visitors enjoy their mud riding. We
found a ton of different mud holes and enjoyed them all. During the
rainy season, I'm sure this park will be just fine with mud,
naturally. Mac has all the equipment any park would ever need for
creating the perfect mud arena, even during dry spells.
I especially enjoyed the mud trenches at Crazy 8 and the water at
Gator Marsh. These are just a few of the destinations you can ride to
while at the park. Overall, the mud was great and accessing the many
different mud spots was very easy and made for a good ride.
Camping:
The camping at River Run is actually pretty nice. If you take a tent,
you can nestle yourself up in the tree line and get all the shade you
need. Most parks dump all campers, (tents and trailers) in the open
pastures. River Run has over 60 RV hookups with Water and Electricity
near the front entrance of the park. And then the primitive campers
will find just about any spot they can in the trees along the main
trail through the park. Camping here at River Run is an enjoyable
experience overall.
